About the Seed to Seal Process

The Seed to Seal 5-step process is what makes Young Living Oils the most authentic essential oils on the market. The innovative process blends ancient and modern technology and a gentle cold press method that holds up to strict industry standards. Oils are sustainably sourced from 7 farming locations around the globe.
Farms using Seed to Seal
Mona Lavender Farm Utah, U.S. The largest herb farm and distillery in the world, our lavender farm in Mona, Utah, features nearly 1,400 acres of fragrant herbs and is open to visitors year round.
Young Living Farm Guayaquil, Ecuador
Growing everything from eucalyptus blue to lemongrass to palo santo,
our Ecuador farm boasts 2,000 acres of fertile ground and a
state-of-the-art distillery.
St. Maries Farm Idaho, U.S.
Previous to Young Living’s 1992 purchase of the land for the St. Maries farm, this area had never been exposed to chemicals, pesticides, and manmade fertilizers. This pristine condition makes the 200 acres of soil perfect for the cultivation of botanicals such as melissa, lavender, and tansy.
Highland Flats Tree Farm Idaho, U.S.
The Highland Flats tree farm is located near the small Idaho town of Naples, less than 50 miles from the U.S.-Canada border. Since 2000, the 250-acre farm has hosted the annual Winter Harvest, where distributors join in harvesting blue spruce, balsam fir, red cedar, and pine trees. Each spring, distributors also participate in the Spring Planting, an important reforestation project that replaces the harvested trees.
Simiane-la-Rotonde Farm Simiane, France
Young Living’s Simiane-la-Rotonde farm is located in Provence, a region of France renowned for its beauty, fragrant lavender fields, and summer-long festivals. Young Living takes advantage of this fertile land to grow clary sage, lavender, and einkorn wheat.
Salalah Farm Salalah, Oman
In 2010, Gary acquired farm acreage in Oman for cultivating Boswellia sacra, or Sacred Frankincense. Now, for the first time in centuries, this precious oil is being distilled in Oman, and Young Living is the first and only company in the world to obtain permission to export it to the Western world. Young Living also cultivates Commipihora myrrha, the botanical used to distill myrrh, another prized biblical oil, at the Oman farm.
NEW! British Columbia
This new location will provide an ongoing supply of Black Spruce, Ledum, and Yarrow—essential oils crucial in some of our most popular blends.
Croatia
In order to keep up with growing demand for our superior products, Young Living has recently purchased the Young Living Northern Lights farm. Here’s what this beautiful new farm has to offer:
- Ongoing Supply—The Young Living Northern Lights farm will provide an ongoing supply of Black Spruce, Ledum, and Yarrow—essential oils crucial in some of our most popular blends. Production of additional oils will be determined in the future.
- Commitment to Sustainability—We are committed to preserving the farm’s natural state as much as possible, using responsible farming methods that include sustainable harvesting and meticulous reforestation.
- Optimal Distillation—Because the Young Living Northern Lights farm, like our Highland Flats farm, will have a cutting-edge distillery on site, we will be able to distill botanicals at the most optimal time, ensuring the production of essential oils with the highest levels of active constituents.
Growing, harvesting, and distilling our own botanicals is a painstaking approach unique to Young Living. We are proud to add the new Young Living Northern Lights Farm to our family of farms throughout the world to help ensure our continued supply of superior, pure essential oils extracted from superior botanicals!

An excerpt from the Young Living Blog, written by Gary Young
“We recently went to Croatia and negotiated on farmland there. We entered into a partnership on the land where we’re already planting helichrysum. We have started growing the world’s first cultivated helichrysum in Croatia!
“Later this year, we’re going to host a three-day Raindrop and essential oil training seminar in Croatia. If you wish to be there, we welcome you. We have limited spots at the host hotel, which is in a beautiful place in a beautiful city. During the seminar we’ll tour the helichrysum farm and, hopefully, the new distillery. We have a goal to start construction in March.”
